Hundreds of Higher Education Workers at New York Rally
On Wednesday, April 20, elected, community, labor, and religious leaders will join hundreds of higher education workers at 4 PM at Columbia University, [116th St./Broadway], for a massive rally demanding justice for higher education workers. This rally brings together University and College workers at every level demanding accessible, quality higher education for all.
Graduate employees at Yale and Columbia are currently striking to demand their fundamental right to have a union. Last July in the Brown University decision, the Bush Administration’s National Labor Relations Board ignored past precedent and denied tens of thousands of private sector graduate employees important federal protections associated with forming a union and collective bargaining.
