Why:
Face-to-face conversations are decisive in close elections, and UNITE HERE has a track record of success. In 2020 and 2022, our canvassing operation was a critical factor in defeating Donald Trump and fending off the “Red Wave” in favor of candidates who would stand alongside working people.
In 2024 the stakes are even higher, and what was already the largest labor-led canvassing operation is even bigger. While UNITE HERE members fight for and win life-changing union contracts in the hotel, food service, and gaming industries, 1,800 canvassers will be speaking with voters in ten key states—including Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nevada—to ensure that we keep moving forward with an administration that has our backs.
Workers’ rights, fair wages, organizing power, and an opportunity to build on the pro-union legacy of the Biden administration are on the line. We won’t go back to another four years of a Donald Trump presidency.
