WHY: Event speakers will pay tribute to the city’s fashion district that has been home through the years to famous design houses, apparel factories, and sample shops that have placed New York on the map as an international center of high fashion.
Along with this, the event will draw attention to the invaluable contributions of immigrant workers to the apparel industry and to our nation’s heritage and future more broadly. Speakers will join the chorus of voices calling for humane immigration reform that will help today’s immigrant workers fashion their own American Dream.
