Local 54 Opens Resource Center for Laid-Off Casino Workers

In response to the anticipated closures of three casinos in Atlantic City, Local 54 today opened a resource center called, “AC Unites Here” for all recently laid-off casino workers. The center is a partnership between Local 54, the NJ Department of Labor, and other government and community agencies.
Among other services, AC Unites Here will offer help with filing unemployment applications, signing up for health coverage under the ACA, NJ Family Care, utilities and food.
Services available: Unemployment/Reemployment, Job Training, Health Insurance, Energy assistance, access to other state and federal resources
Partner Organizations include: NJ DOL and Workforce Development, Atlantic County Department of Family and Community Development, City of Atlantic City, Community Foodbank of NJ/South Branch, Enroll America, JFS Atlantic Cape, Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board, Center for Family Services, New Jersey Citizen Action, Atlantic City Electric, NJ for Healthcare Coalition and others.
ALL Laid-off casino workers are welcome.
