TJ Maxx is one of the most profitable retail companies in the country, and has recently reported record profits . The recession has been very good for TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, AJ Wright, and HomeGoods. Unfortunately, the recession has not been as good for TJ Maxx workers and their families.
Workers at other TJX facilities in New England will also soon enter contract negotiations and will be joining the workers at the Worcester TJ Maxx facility in their call for a fair new contract.
The UNITE HERE New England Joint Board represents over 9,000 workers in the manufacturing, textile and laundry industries, and in distribution, across the six New England states. The New England Joint Board is an affiliate of UNITE HERE which represents workers throughout the U.S. and Canada who work in the hospitality, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, laundry, and airport industries.
