On Sunday March 8, 2015, more than 400 members from 19 UNITE HERE locals came together from all over the South and other parts of the United States to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday” in Selma, Alabama.
Fifty years ago, when hundreds of courageous people crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge, they created a new beginning for their families and communities. They made history.
Today, UNITE HERE members continue that legacy by fighting for their rights and the rights of thousands of other workers: immigrants, people of color, LGBT people. We make history, too.
