This April, more than 2,000 UNITE HERE members from across North America joined tens of thousands more in Memphis, Tennessee, to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Memphis sanitation workers—and carry their legacy forward.
Fifty years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the historic Memphis sanitation workers’ strike, UNITE HERE members remain committed to their vision of faith, civil rights, and labor movements united in nonviolent action.
